Established in 2012, this well-known Chinese/Australian community media brand has an impressive following on multiple platforms. It’s ranked as being in the top three most influential content marketers to the Chinese community here in Australia.

About the Role:

  • Help develop programs to build their community engagement;
  • Produce relevant and engaging content for diverse audiences across their communities and platforms;
  • Create an audience focused culture;
  • Decide headlines for social media and website; and
  • Manage and train the Content team.

What your team are doing:

  • Reporting daily news on the website and social media platforms;
  • Produce stories on the WeChat Official Account;
  • Produce creative content to increase the engagement; and
  • Translating news into Chinese.

Their skills:

  • Understanding of the Australian-Chinese media industry;
  • Excellent writing skills and a passion for social media;
  • Adept at using relevant digital and social channels to get latest news;
  • Knowledge of online reporting;
  • Research skills;
  • Team players who work collaboratively with the other divisions

As their leader we are looking for someone with:

  • A strong understanding of the Australian-Chinese media industry and the interests of local Chinese;
  • Deep understanding of Chinese Social Media;
  • Comprehensive understanding of Australia’s economy and its politics;
  • A strong news sense and investigative reporting skills;
  • Be a confident interviewer – at all levels; in Chinese &/or English - verbal & written;
  • Have at least 3 to 5 years’ experience of working in newsrooms;
  • Be able to manage and train the Content team; and
  • Have a collaborative understanding of the advertising side of the business
